Peruvian Central Bank Hikes Rate 25bps to 4.00%

The Banco Central de Reserva del Peru raised its benchmark policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.00% from 3.75% previously. The Bank said"This measure aims to limit the impact of higher international food and energy prices on inflation expectations,". Peru's Finance Minister, Ismael Benavides, said annual inflation is likely to be aroun 3-3.5% compared to the central bank's inflation target of 1-3%.
